Vladimir Putin is allegedly responsible for the war crime of illegal deportation of the population and illegal transfer of children from the occupied regions of Ukraine to the Russian Federation.
At the same time, Lvova-Belova is also accused of illegal deportation of Ukrainian children to the Russian Federation.
There are reasonable grounds to believe that each suspect is responsible for the war crime of illegal deportation of the population and illegal transfer of the population from the occupied regions of Ukraine to the Russian Federation to the detriment of Ukrainian children.
The Court held that the warrants were classified for the protection of victims and witnesses and for the security of the investigation.
“However, given that the conduct at issue in this situation is suspected to be ongoing and that informing the public of the warrants may help prevent further crime,” the statement said.
ICC President Piotr Hofmansky said that enforcement depends on international cooperation.
“The judges issued an arrest warrant (for Putin and Lvova-Belova, – ed.). Their execution depends on international cooperation,” he said.
Note that a few days ago, the press secretary of the dictator of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov stated that the Russian Federation does not recognize the International Criminal Court and its jurisdiction.
“We do not recognize this court, we do not recognize the jurisdiction of this court. This is how we treat this,” he said at the time.
Recall, earlier it was reported that the International Criminal Court will open two cases of war crimes of the Russian Federation in Ukraine.
In addition, earlier Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said that the main goal of Ukraine under the special tribunal is to resolve the issue of the immunities of the “troika” of the top leadership of the Russian Federation from persecution in international law.
