A VTC driver denounced for 7 people in the car, one of them in the trunk
Agents of the Municipal Traffic Police (PMT) of Mixco, in Guatemala, detained a vehicle that was traveling through San Juan with an excess of people on Tuesday.
The agents were surprised when they also located another person in the trunk of the car, verifying that it was a VTC vehicle.
In total, the vehicle was carrying seven people: the driver, two people in the front passenger seat, three in the rear seat and one person in the trunk. According to the version of some witnesses, another passenger had got out of the trunk minutes before.
Mixco Municipality spokesman Mynor Espinoza confirmed that the pilot was fined 400 quetzals.
“We call on users not to risk their lives, both for going that way and for Covid-19. Being crammed into a car is not convenient for safety, “said the spokesman.
On a daily basis, residents of Mixco and other municipalities use taxis, VTC and private vehicles to get around since the bus service is paralyzed due to the pandemic.
