The human toll of this accident involving three cars, which occurred at 7:30 p.m. this Saturday, June 26, left one dead and four injured on the RD 1006 in Saint-Quentin-Fallavier.
The head-on collision occurred in a straight line. The 35-year-old driver of a first vehicle was ejected. He could not be brought back to life by the emergency services. In the other two vehicles, we deplore a 43-year-old father in absolute urgency. Medicated by a team from Smur, he was transported by helicopter to the Edouard-Herriot hospital in Lyon.
His wife and their one-year-old son, who were more slightly injured, were taken to the woman-mother-child hospital in Bron. In a third car, a 33-year-old woman, slightly injured, was taken to Bourgoin-Jallieu hospital. Four other people escaped unharmed.
The road was closed to traffic and the gendarmes are currently carrying out the usual findings. An overtaking on a continuous white line, during a narrowing of the road, would be at the origin of the tragedy.
