A video of Sultan Al Jaber was circulated with his “embarrassing and stubborn” attitude and the way he dealt with him

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Activists circulated on social media a video clip of a situation between Sultan Al Jaber, President of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), with a journalist on the sidelines of the conference and his way of dealing with the situation.

Al-Jaber appears in the video clip in a position that activists described as “embarrassing and stubborn” with one of the journalists participating in the events, repeatedly urging the Emirati official to answer, highlighting the latter’s reaction, which was well received in the comments.

It is noteworthy that Al Jaber held many positions in his career in the Emirates. In November 2020, he was appointed as the UAE’s special envoy for climate change. He had performed this role during the period 2010 – 2016 when he was supervising the Emirates’ efforts in the field of clean energy through Masdar, Abu Dhabi’s multi-faceted renewable energy initiative.

From 2013 until July 2020, he served as Minister of State and Member of the Council of Ministers in the Federal Government of the UAE. He was appointed CEO of ADNOC (Abu Dhabi National Oil Company) in 2016, and served as CEO of the energy sector at Mubadala, the strategic investment arm of the Abu Dhabi government. In 2006, the leadership assigned him to establish the Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company “Masdar” and other positions during his career.
