A very rare baby tiger is born in London: in a video the first shaky steps and the first baby food

At the London Zoo, Gaysha, a ten-year-old Sumatran tiger, cleans with great licks and feeds her only cub a few hours after birth on 12 December. Sumatran tigers from Indonesia are the rarest and smallest tiger subspecies. In nature there are only 300 left.

The eyes of these felines remain closed for the first few days after birth and the puppy remains hidden in the den until the first vaccinations, when vets and caretakers can determine its sex. The hidden camera, however, managed to capture the first hours of life. Caretaker Lucy Reed explained: “The little one is doing really well and is under the excellent care of the mother. We keep an eye on the situation without disturbing, so that mother and child can bond.”
