Kristalina Georgieva shared that she accepts the recognition of the university with pride. The awarding of the title is part of the events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the founding of the university, and Kristalina Georgieva pointed out that it was 30 years ago that her professional path began.
In her speech to the guests of the event and to university students, she stressed that investing in people and building human capital is the basis of a strong economy.
“We live in a rapidly changing world and we must build resilience, added Kristalina Georgieva. “We learned from this crisis about our interdependence, we learned a lot about the incredible achievements of scientists inventing a vaccine in such a short time and about our ability to do unthinkable things when we do them under pressure,” added Kristalina Georgieva.
