“I am now the head of a committee that has the authority to investigate what happened,” Pillay added. “So there is no question of not doing so.” She said there were already people keen to give testimony and it would be handed over to prosecutors.
She explained to Reuters that she had met with prosecutors at the International Criminal Court since the October 7 attack to cooperate in sharing evidence.
She added, “I was impressed by the Deputy Public Prosecutor (Nezhat Shamim Khan)’s confirmation of how serious she is in investigating incidents of sexual violence and complaints received from Israel.”
