A Ukrainian S-300 missile fell on Belarusian territory this morning, BelTA and TASS report.
The incident occurred between 10:00 and 11:00 local time.
President Alexander Lukashenko was promptly informed of the incident.
According to investigators BelTA work on two versions. One is that it is a misdirected missile like the one that fell recently in Poland, and the other is that the missile was shot down by the country’s air defenses.
Specialists from the Investigative Committee, the Interior Ministry and the Defense Ministry are inspecting the crash site. No casualties have been reported so far.
Subsequently, the Belarusian Ministry of Defense confirmed that uthe Krai missile was shot down by Belarusian air defense systems.
“During the inspection, it was previously established that the remains belong to an S-300 anti-aircraft guided missile, launched from the territory of Ukraine,” the department told “Telegram”.
It is known that fragments of the rocket were scattered over an agricultural field “not far from the village of Gorbakha, Ivanovo district, Brest region”.
This morning Ukraine was submitted a new massive Russian airstrike. Explosions were reported in Kiev, Lviv and Kharkiv, and Ukrainian authorities said more than 100 Russian missiles were fired at the country.
Since the beginning of the war, several missiles have fallen on the territories of non-belligerent countries.
At the end of October a Russian rocket fell on the Moldavian village Naslavcha, after being shot down by air defenses over neighboring Ukraine during another a series of Russian missile attacks against Ukrainian cities.
November 15th a rocket also landed in the village of Pshevodov in eastern Poland, near the Ukrainian border, killing two.
The last such incident was on December 5, when second pageaket fell in Moldova – this time in the northern city of Briceni.
