A Ukrainian family settled in the children’s holiday village in the Kyustendil village of Smolichano. This was announced for BTA by the owner of the complex Elena Nacheva. The family with two children, aged 5 and 7, arrived from Kyiv after traveling for ten days.

“I am also grateful to the many friends who helped as much as they could, because the family came here only with the clothes on their backs. The children received many gifts – toys and clothes and felt like a holiday,” said Elena Nacheva.

She shares that upon entering Bulgaria via Ruse, the family was given a card for isolation for ten days because of the pandemic, which puzzled her.

“These people are fleeing the war, and we are putting them in isolation,” Nacheva said.

The children’s village accepts children from all over Bulgaria and from abroad. In addition to music, painting, ceramics, theater, the children visit a farm, where they participate in the cultivation of fruits and vegetables and take care of the animal farm. In the summer the village accepts children constantly, and in the winter – on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

The purpose of the children’s village is to teach children to live in harmony with nature.
