The attacker is a 23-year-old Chechen. The Ukrainian soldier has a broken jaw, broken nose, knocked out teeth, multiple bruises and concussion

A Caucasian security guard beat up a Ukrainian soldier in a hotel in Frankfurt. The Ukrainian, who was sent to Germany for “rehabilitation” after an injury, entered the hotel bar in the uniform of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the Ukrainian edition “Novinarnya”, referring to a comment by the Consul General of Ukraine, Vadym Kostyuk, after the beating, the Ukrainian fighter ended up in hospital with a broken jaw and a concussion. He is going to have a major operation.

“According to our information, on Friday evening, our military man entered the hotel bar in uniform. After a remark by the hotel staff and security for the inappropriate dress code, there was an exchange of words and a fight. The hotel security guard, who is of Caucasian origin , has neutralized our citizen, who has a broken jaw and concussion. There is also confirmation from the police,” said Consul General Kostyuk.

The Ukrainian consul also noted that the police will provide more detailed information on Monday.

The consulate will help financially with the jaw surgery and assist in filing a police complaint and finding a lawyer. The department also said they will try to get police video from the bar where the incident happened.

The department is also engaged in clarifying the norms of the legislation of both countries regarding the wearing of military uniforms by Ukrainian servicemen abroad and visits to such establishments there.

According to prior information in Germany, to wear a military uniform outside the service, you need to get a special permit, and foreigners have the right to wear it during joint exercises, internships and in other cases provided for in a separate bilateral agreement.

Ukraine has not concluded such an agreement with Germany. According to the Facebook community of Ukrainians in Frankfurt, the incident happened at the Roomers Hotel. The attacker is a 23-year-old Chechen. The Ukrainian’s injuries also include a broken nose, knocked out teeth and bruises.
