The explosion took place in the Kireevsky district of the Russian Tula region. At least three people were reported injured.
The cause of the explosion in Kireevsk, Tula Region, was the Ukrainian Tu-141 drone “Strij” packed with explosives. This was reported by TASS, citing a statement by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
It was previously reported that this UAV is an unmanned aerial vehicle for operational-tactical reconnaissance.
Interfax earlier reported the incident, citing a statement from the regional security commission on Sunday.
“On March 26, an explosion erupted in the Kireevski area, as a result of which three residential buildings were partially damaged. Two people received minor injuries, they were given medical assistance,” the message says.
It is noted that operational services are working on the spot, a cordon has been organized. On behalf of Governor Alexey Dyumin, the heads of law enforcement agencies, the chairman of the Regional Security Committee of the Tula Region went to Kireevsk to coordinate all actions and clarify the circumstances of the incident.
