It is better to launch an offensive when the weather is dry, says Swithan
Military expert, retired colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and pilot-instructor Roman Svitan believes that after Easter there will be a de-occupation of the Ukrainian territories.
“I think by the end of March, in April, our counter-offensive operations will already start. It’s probably even better to start them, probably after the middle of April. So we have Easter somewhere around April 16, but depending on the weather in the second ten days of April, our counteroffensive may take place,” said the expert, quoted by UNIAN.
The colonel also emphasized that it is better to start an offensive when the weather is dry, because the black earth in Donbas is such that “a tank can be covered with mud up to the turret.” The same applies to the Priazov steppes.
“The best option is still to start in dry weather. Until the ground dries, it is better to continue to destroy the enemy in active defense mode. In fact, that is what we are doing,” added Swithan.
According to media reports, the servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine conducted a staff exercise in which they rehearsed the future counteroffensive at the front.
In the spring of 2023, according to the head of the GUR Kiril Budanov, the decisive battle in the Ukrainian-Russian war will take place.
Western tanks have already arrived in Ukraine, which will become an important part of the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
