Twitter account @RemindMe_OfThis is a bot that offers a really useful service: setting an alert to read a tweet later.
This bot alerts the user at the scheduled time to review a tweet
Bots are simple programs that automate tasks in social networks and that sometimes can have such curious purposes as publishing photos of cats, or can also be used for illicit purposes. Other times, as in this case, they are more than useful.
The tweet alert bot It was created by the user @theshalvah and has a very simple operation: just reply to the tweet you are interested in reading later mentioning the bot itself and telling you how long to elapse before the reminder occurs.
It can be indicated in minutes, hours, days, weeks or even more than a year or in the specific time and date … yes, the indication must be done in English although fortunately for those who do not dominate the language so much, especially the prepositions, it can be done in a very schematic way simply mentioning time or date.
In this way you can reply to a tweet that you want to read later with formulas like these:
- @RemindMe_OfThis remind me about this 15 days
- @RemindMe_OfThis remind me about this 21:30
- @RemindMe_OfThis remind me about this 4 months
- @RemindMe_OfThis remind me about this 2 april 2021
Once the request is completed, the bot will respond by accompanying the screenshot of the tweet that you want to read later, something that will allow the content not to be forgotten if the tweet is deleted. A screenshot that, by the way, is made at low resolution. When the moment that has been indicated to the bot arrives, it will respond to the same tweet mentioning the user who activated the alert. Alerts can be canceled by the simple procedure of replying to the tweet where we made the request.
There is also the possibility to install Remind Me Of This as a application connected to Twitter account, which adds the function of updating reminders and can also cancel them. This app requests access to the Twitter account specifying that it will only see the published tweets (including lists and collections), the information and account settings and the accounts that the user follows, blocks and silences.
