A tweet and the fans are on edge: more to know about ABBA Voyage next week

After the band broke up, Agnetha and Frida continued solo. Benny and Björn focused on writing and composing musicals. In 2005, the four appeared together again in public for the first time at the premiere of the musical Oh Mama! in Stockholm. One three years ago it came out that they had recorded new ABBA songs for the first time since 1982, but those songs have been shelved ever since.

ABBA-tars

ABBA Travel should be a sensational comeback, but one that was already announced by the foursome in 2016. A new kind of entertainment experience, it was said back then, “that will enable a new generation of fans to see and hear ABBA like never before”.

The big man behind the project is Simon Fuller, the well-known British music and television producer. He made the Spice Girls big in the mid-90s and for many years was the manager of Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton. It was he who came up with the idea of the ABBA tars, lifelike ABBA holograms that can be projected onto a stage.

The holograms will most likely play old ABBA songs during a tour. It is not known whether they will also sing the three to five new songs.

Little is known about ABBA Voyage anyway. For the fans and other curious people, it will therefore have to wait for Thursday 2 September, when a presentation will be given in Stockholm in the early evening.
