A turn in time. Just before the New Year come the elements.
The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) warned of dangerous weather in 8 districts tomorrow, December 29, 2021.
In Smolyan, Kardzhali, Haskovo, Yambol, Sliven, Burgas, Varna and Dobrich, a yellow code is in force for significant rainfall. The expected quantities are 20-35 mm, according to the map with dangerous meteorological phenomena, published on the NIMH website.

Atmospheric pressure will remain lower than the average for the month. It will be cloudy next day.
There will be rainfall in the eastern half of the country and in some places in the Rhodopes and the extreme southeastern regions the quantities will be significant. Ice in the morning in Northeastern Bulgaria is not excluded.
In Western Bulgaria there will be mostly sleet, before noon in many places – with fog. A light east-northeast wind will blow, in the evening it will be oriented from the northwest. The minimum temperatures will be between 0 and 5 degrees, the maximum mostly between 3 and 8 degrees, slightly higher in the extreme southern regions; for Sofia – minimum 2 degrees, maximum – about 7 degrees.
It will be cloudy and rainy over the Black Sea coast. It will blow to a moderate east wind. Maximum air temperatures will be 8-10 degrees, close to the sea water temperature. The sea wave will be 2 points.
In the mountains it will be cloudy and foggy, in the eastern half of the country – with rain. There will be significant quantities in the Rhodopes, Strandzha and Sakar. In the massifs of Western Bulgaria the precipitation will be light, over 1600 meters will be of snow. Before noon the wind will be south, weak, in the eastern regions – moderate, by the end of the day it will be oriented from north-northwest. Maximum temperature at 1200 meters – about 6 degrees, at 2000 meters – about zero degrees.
On the night before Thursday the rains will continue, in the Fore-Balkans, the Danube plain, and in the morning the rain will pass to Ludogorie or will be mixed with snow. On Thursday it will remain cloudy, in places in the lowlands foggy, before noon there will still be precipitation in more places in the Eastern and central regions of Southern Bulgaria. The wind along the coast will remain moderate from the northwest, in the rest of the country will weaken and temporarily subside. Temperatures will be almost non-existent, between 3 and 8 degrees.
On Friday, with the intensification of the wind from the west-northwest, it will warm up, the daily temperatures will rise by 5-6 degrees. There will be variable clouds, over many areas – temporarily decreasing to mostly sunny.
