The boycott and anti-normalization campaign has praised the withdrawal of Lebanese player, Mohamed Ataya, from the final of the international tournament in Cyprus, due to his refusal to face an Israeli player.
The campaign considered that this withdrawal reflects the pulse of the great Lebanese people, and all Arab peoples, for their rejection of normalization under the occupation and their rejection of the Zionist crimes committed by the occupation against the defenseless Palestinian people.
Lebanese and Arab activists also praised Ataya, believing that with this withdrawal he has achieved a new victory for Lebanon and Lebanese sport, describing his position as honorable and heroic, with calls to boycott any activity under the Israeli occupation and continue to give it up.
A member of the parliamentary committee for youth and sports, Representative Yanal Solh, said, “Ataya has joined the honor list with a high rank, registering a new honorable position in front of the Zionist entity, and this position which expresses the position of all Free Lebanese.
