Many people gathered on Saturday morning to pay their respects to a traffic signalman who died on the job two weeks ago.
Flags, family and friends gathered in Saint-Jérôme to form a funeral procession for Maxime Forget, who was crushed to death by a backhoe on August 21 while his father was on the same construction site.

“It was good jack. He was a man who knew where he was going. He was not a sleepy man, he knew his job well. It was a stupid accident, unfortunately. It would provide more training on site, close to the machine,” said Éric Laflamme, president of the Association bringing together installers and flaggers in Quebec.
The latter also suggested that the lack of training of the construction site workers could have contributed to the accident that led to the death of Maxime Forget.
“It required more advanced training for marshals, also because the marshals are often left to their own devices,” he told the newspaper. TVA News.
Union representatives took advantage of the event to reject the violent behavior of some drivers towards flags.
