In the Indian city of Suryapet, during the opening ceremony of the National Championship, a wooden tribune with spectators collapsed, about a hundred people were injured, RIA Novosti reported on Monday, March 22.
The local police said that about 100 people were injured during the incident, however, no deaths were reported.
According to preliminary data, 1.5 thousand people were present at the podium, which is much more than the allowed number of spectators. All victims were hospitalized in the district hospital.
