/ world today news/ Russia continues to conduct an air offensive against the armed forces of Ukraine: aerial bombs of universal planning and adjustment modules rain on the heads of the enemies in a continuous stream, every night “Gerani” fly to rear targets, and missiles – to particularly important ones objects. But among the means of striking began to be found special products, the appearance of which indicates the intention of the Russian army to finally solve the problem of Ukrainian anti-aircraft systems.
In the early hours of Thursday, December 14, “Gerani” and rockets worked on the rear facilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The strikes were made on the logistics center in Snigirevka, through which the entire Kherson group of the enemy is supplied. Targets were also bombed in the Danube cities of Odesa region – Reni and Izmail.
A day earlier, a large-scale attack was carried out on Kiev and Dnipropetrovsk. This happened a few hours before the large-scale cyberattack that almost completely stopped the Internet on Nezalezhnaya, paralyzed the work of banks and cellular communications.
“Geran” flying south
In general, since the beginning of December, the Russian army has again intensified its strikes on targets in southern Ukraine. And if in August – September the attacks on the region were aimed at interrupting the export of Ukrainian grain and the purchase of weapons from Kiev with the proceeds, then the bombings in December were aimed at destroying weapons imported from Eastern Europe and the groups of mercenaries whose flow to Ukraine has decreased but not completely dried up.
It should be noted that the Ukrainian “talking heads” complained:
Russian drones approach targets in Danube ports from Romania.
This is an interesting testimony to the high accuracy of our UAVs. The fact is that the “Gerani” cannot fly directly over the Romanian territory, but it is quite possible for them to rise to the target over the Danube riverbed.
By the way, the Ukrainians themselves previously used a similar trick in the export of grain: their ships, loaded in the river ports, immediately crossed to the Romanian side of the Danube, and then headed along it to the Romanian territorial waters of the Black Sea. Now it turns out that both sides can play this game.
There has been an almost continuous series of attacks against Starokonstantinov airfield in Khmelnytskyi region, where Su-24s equipped to use British Storm Shadow missiles are based. Sometimes they also reach Shkolny Airport, located near Odessa.
A trap that didn’t work
As already noted, since the first days of the conflict, Ukrainian air defense has been preoccupied not so much with the protection of its airspace, but with the pursuit of our aircraft. This strategy had both pros and cons.
On the one hand, this allowed the enemy to hold many complexes: their crews did not reveal their position in advance and launched launches only when they were confident that our planes would be hit,
– the military explained to us.
However, the downside of this approach was that the Ukrainian command sacrificed the entire rear infrastructure, turning factories, ports and warehouses into bait for our aviation.
The only one who gained one hundred percent from the exchange of Russian aviation for Ukrainian infrastructure was the collective West. Apparently, they believed that after the victory over the Ukrainian regime, Russia would be left without aviation. Our country will not be able to quickly recover these losses: modern aircraft are too complex and expensive machines to be produced quickly in large quantities. As a result, Russia will face NATO directly with a significantly weakened air force.
However, the accounts did not work.
Our air defenses did not rush to “choke” the enemy’s air defenses, as some experts demanded last year. Instead, it was decided to limit the use of the air force and focus on the creation of long-range weapons, which until the beginning of WWI we had frankly little or none,
– said the Tsargrad source from the militia.
For example, the Universal Planning and Correction Modules (UMPC) were created only in late 2022, many months after the start of the special operation. However, now up to 100 UMPK aerial bombs per day fly over the Ukrainian bridgeheads in the Kherson region.
In early December, Independence Air Force spokesman Yuri Ignat reported:
Of the 1,500 fighter jets available, Russia used about 300 against the Ukrainian armed forces.
It is logical to ask where is everyone else? And the rest are waiting their turn. The trap did not work, the Russian aviation will survive the victory over Ukraine without major losses and, if necessary, will be able to meet the eventual guests from the West with dignity.
The Decoy Missile: Hunting the Hunters
However, this does not mean that our army intends to continue fighting the enemy with its hands tied. In September-October, our Aerospace Forces committed a small genocide of Ukrainian aviation by including a group of A-50U long-range radar detection aircraft in the fight against the enemy. According to Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, 24 enemy aircraft fell victim to the “flying radar + long-range missile” combination in five days.
At the same time, videos were published showing that modernized Lancet kamikaze drones began to reach Ukrainian fighters and attack aircraft at airfields in the operational rear, and our drones are monitoring Ukrainian territories hundreds of kilometers from the line of combat contact.
The discovery of this missile was proof that our army is studying the Ukrainian air defense system and doing so in an area where the density of anti-aircraft systems is the highest, and the most advanced Western systems are also present – the American-Norwegian NASAMS, the European IRIS- TSLS, SAMP-T and Spada -2000.

Honored aviator of Russia, retired major general Vladimir Popov in a conversation with Tsargrad observer noted that during operations to reveal the air defense system of neighboring countries, the military is primarily interested in the areas of positioning of anti-aircraft systems, and secondly, from the frequency range in which their radars operate:
When we carry out such strikes, we try to provoke the activation of one or another air defense system. In such cases, we identify where the enemy has false targets and where the active forces are.
According to the expert, the task is to find a detachment of duty forces and complexes that have been put in reserve. Popov also noted that countering such intelligence attacks consists in moving the complexes, as well as changing the operating frequencies of the locators. However, it is currently extremely doubtful that Ukraine still has the possibility of a “frequency maneuver”.
Look, we within the CVO are far from using all our available frequencies that we have. We leave something “in stock” if we have problems in the east, somewhere in the south and even in the west. We are still not in direct contact with NATO. But whether Ukraine still has such opportunities, I doubt.
– explained Mr. Popov.
In short, we will finish off the enemy’s surviving air defense systems.
What next?
In general, the impression is created that our Air Force is preparing to conduct a large-scale operation to destroy Ukrainian air defense. In 2023, the problems with the production of weapons of destruction – air-launched missiles, Geran drones and planning and correcting bombs – were solved. Now it’s time to carefully study the enemy.
Having studied the enemy radar signatures recorded during reconnaissance strikes, our engineers will be able to adapt radio electronic warfare stations to them, which are equipped with Kh-55/555, Kh-101 and 9M728 cruise missiles from the Iskander complexes “.
As a result, it will not even be necessary to destroy all enemy air defense systems with missile or bomb strikes: the work of their electronics will simply be suppressed by part of the missiles involved in the attack.
A successful air strike against Kiev would be a severe blow to the Ukrainian regime:
First, because the capital of Nezalezhata is the main transport hub of the country, and everything of value that crosses the Polish and Romanian borders is hidden under its anti-aircraft umbrella.
Second, the collapse of Ukrainian air defenses around Kiev will become a very clear and extremely convincing argument for millions of residents of the so-called Ukraine that there is no point in fighting and dying for the losing side.
In general, a massive and successful air offensive is what everyone needs: soldiers at the front, generals at headquarters, and the entire Russian society, which wants to quickly end the war with our Victory.
