A transfer window well impacted by the Covid: four times less spending than in January 2020


The winter transfer window closed on Monday evening. The crisis is being felt.

The time when players like Philippe Coutinho, Virgil van Dijk, Aymeric Laporte, Christian Pulisic and Oscar were already setting the winter mercatos on fire seems to be a long way off. Transfers to 145, 87, 65, 64 and 60 million euros respectively in the middle of the season.

The 2017-2018 season marked the peak of stratospheric winter recruitments with more than 1 billion euros spent in the five major European championships.
