The search for 18-year-old Terézia M. from Bratislava ended tragically. On Wednesday before noon, the police reported that they had found a woman’s body without signs of life in the Danube. It belongs to the missing girl, they confirmed shortly afterwards.
The river washed away a woman’s body without signs of life near the Lužné most on the bank of the Petržalka housing estate in Bratislava. Passers-by called the police there around nine o’clock on Wednesday.
“Unfortunately, Terézia M. was found too late. The Emergency Search Team extends its deepest sincere condolences to the family and loved ones,” the Slovak police said on facebook.
According to TV Markíza, the examining physician will determine the preliminary cause of death on the spot. DNA analysis will confirm the identification definitively. But the dead woman was wearing white snow shoes, which Terezia also wore on the day of her disappearance.
Witnesses last saw her on Saturday evening at Staré most, where she left after an argument with a friend. Then she should write to Tom to come see her there. But when he arrived, all he found was her coat and her cell phone.
“I regret to announce that Terezka was found this morning, unfortunately without signs of life. I probably won’t be in contact much in the near future, we still have a lot of hard times ahead of us. Value the people around you and take care of them. You never know how quickly you can lose them,” the girl’s friend said on Facebook.
The police could not yet release further details.
