Recently, the 80-member “Diamond Lineup” of the National Peking Opera Company, led by popular veteran Yu Kuizhi and Mei School Tsing Yi Li Shengsu, performed a series of performances in Taiwan to rave reviews, bringing a touching audio-visual feast to Taiwanese theater fans.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the National Peking Opera Company’s performance in Taiwan. In 1993, a performance troupe of nearly 100 people led by Peking Opera master Yuan Shihai toured Taiwan for nearly a month, filling every venue and leaving an unforgettable memory for Taiwanese audiences. Since then, the National Peking Opera Company has come to Taiwan to perform almost every year.
