A total of 1,308,319 people over the age of 18 have so far received the first booster dose of the covid-19 vaccine in the Basque Country and 476,594 have received the second, which is 980 and 7,026 more than last week. respectively, according to the data collected in the covid-19 vaccination bulletin published this Monday by the Department of Health of the Basque Government.

Without taking the booster dose into account, the immunization rate in Euskadi for the population of legal age is 92.8%, with rates above 90% in all age groups except for young people between 18 and 29 years of age (86 .7%) and between 30 and 39 years (87.1%).

Among people over 18 years of age who have completed the vaccination regimen, 76.2% have received the first booster dose, with rates that exceed 86% over 50 years of age and which is 65.9%. for people from 40 to 49 years. Among the youngest, the percentage drops to 41.4% for the 18-29 age group and 47.6% for people between 30 and 39 years of age.

The second booster dose reaches a coverage rate of 36.4%. However, the coverage rate with this second booster dose is 84.1% among those over 80 years of age and reaches 89% if only people over 90 years of age are taken into account.

In the group of 70 to 79 years it is 70.3%, among people from 60 to 69 years of 50.1% and 14.5% among people from 50 to 59 years. Below 50 years, it is below 10% in all age groups.

Osakidetza has so far administered 144,432 pediatric vaccines, 30 more than last week. In addition to these pediatric Pfizer vaccines, 2.94 million doses have been administered from BioNTech/Pfizer, 1.18 million from Moderna/Lonza, 479,650 from AstraZeneca, 99,346 from Janssen, and 511,558 from BioNTech/Pfizer Omicron.
