Forecasters from NIMH expect a cold front to pass over our country, which will eventually cool a large part of Bulgaria. In the new week there will be precipitation, even hail in the western part of the country. This was announced to BNT by the director of the Meteorology Department at NIMH, Assoc. Lilia Bocheva.
“In the east, high temperatures will continue, but maybe not as intense as before. In any case, until the end of the month and the beginning of September, the conditions for high temperatures are still present. In recent years, September has behaved more like a summer month than as fall,” she said.
“It’s not getting hotter every year. The trend is towards warming, but long-term. In no case can you say that this year is warmer than the last, and the year before is warmer than the year before, etc. The years are different, we have seasons that behave differently,” Bocheva pointed out.
“In recent decades, we’ve seen a trend of year-round temperatures rising. Winter temperatures are also rising. You can see that winters are getting milder. There’s less snowfall. And from there, we can’t necessarily say that now that we’re seeing one a positive extreme, in the winter we will have a negative one. The probability of one or the other scenario changes in each subsequent month,” revealed the meteorologist.
