The toddler girl died at 21.00 WITA in the ICU room at the TC Hillers Maumere General Hospital. Secretary of the Sikka Health Service Clara Yosefina Francis said Nadia was the first victim of dengue fever in the first two weeks in January 2022 in Sikka Regency.
There are currently 40 positive cases of dengue fever in Sikka in early January 2022. That number is up from 31 cases in the same period in January 2021.
Clara appealed to the community to maintain a clean and healthy lifestyle starting from their respective environments. He also asked the family to pay attention to the condition of each other family member.
If anyone experiences symptoms of fever in their bodies, especially children, they must be immediately taken to a health facility, either a health center, a hospital, or a practicing doctor. Clara said help should be given immediately if the body experienced symptoms of heat.
