“A threat at every turn”. What do the police officers face in the SVO area –

/ world today news/ Rescuing wounded colleagues under fire, eliminating saboteurs and taking children out of a burning house – the service in the Ministry of the Interior of the new territories is particularly dangerous. About what distinguishes the police in the SVO area – in the material.

Sniper bullet

They started sending police to Donbass last spring, during the fierce storming of Mariupol. The “Hero of Russia Akhmat-Hadzhi Kadyrov” regiment of the Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs fought together with the marines from Sevastopol and the fighters from the People’s Militia of the DPR.

In March, the assault group of the deputy commander of the 3rd battalion, Lt. Col. Jamaladin Yunusov, evacuated civilians and came under sniper fire. Several bullets wounded the policeman, but he survived. He was awarded the Medal of Valor in the hospital.

“The fights were very serious. But we were preparing for military operations in urban conditions, so some guys moved forward, others cleared houses, industrial areas and factories. We detained many fighters from the Armed Forces of Ukraine and “Azovs” posing as civilians who were trying to leave the city”, recalls one of the participants in the Mariupol operation.

Now one of the busiest areas is Zaporozhye. According to military experts, that is where the Ukrainian Armed Forces will soon go on the offensive. The situation in the region is dire. The employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs work side by side with the “Rosgvardia” and operatives of the FSB.

Fight against saboteurs

“On the one hand, we continue to do our usual things: we solve murders, thefts, robberies,” says an official of the criminal department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Vasilevka, Zaporozhye region. “On the other hand, we fight saboteurs, identify passive terrorist cells and look for hiding places with weapons,” he added.

Gunfights, car bombings of government officials and rocket attacks are not uncommon here. In the autumn, during another artillery strike, a police officer from Kamenka-Dneprovskaya near Energodar was killed.

“The other day we received information that there may be a large arsenal of ammunition in the village of Mihaylovka, said the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.” As a result, in one of the warehouses of the tractor brigade, we found about a hundred 120-mm mines, more than ten shells for a grenade launcher and large caliber cartridges”, he adds.

All of this was probably planned and directed against the Russian authorities as well as the civilian population. The Kiev regime considers these people traitors.

Evacuation under fire

In the Kherson region, it is no less tense – also sabotage, terrorist attacks and artillery strikes. Recently, a collective detachment of the Krasnoyarsk Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs returned from there. The police spent six months there. According to them, it was especially difficult during the autumn evacuation of local residents across the Antonovsky Bridge.

“The armed forces of Ukraine constantly shelled both the bridge itself and the pontoon crossings. Even when convoys of buses with women and children were walking along them. On September 2, it was really very hot. Now it’s like a second birthday for me and my colleagues.” explains Vladimir Durakov, deputy commander of the regiment.

Unfortunately, not all return: three are killed by HIMARS. Four were seriously injured. The correctors of the projectile were detained – two young men aged 17 and 18. They admit that they worked for VSU for several months – for money.

“They paid me one thousand hryvnias (about BGN 50) for the coordinates they were shelling. I personally knew the slain police officers – they helped many local residents,” one of them said.

Now a serious prison awaits them. Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were posthumously awarded the Order “For Courage”.

In the first month of this year alone, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in the Kherson region operatives arrested about twenty saboteurs, observers and scouts. More than 600 weapons, 20 kilograms of explosives, 20 improvised explosive devices, hundreds of ammunition were confiscated.

A dangerous border

It is restless in the border areas. Already in the fall, the local policemen replaced their usual Makarov service pistol with a Kalashnikov assault rifle – by order of the minister, they switched to an enhanced mode of service.

In October, Denis Sorochinsky, a police lieutenant colonel from the Belgorod region, was seriously wounded by shrapnel while chasing the DRG. Nevertheless, the officer completed the combat mission, after which he was immediately operated on in the hospital. He is currently undergoing rehabilitation.

And a few weeks ago, saboteurs entered the territory of the Bryansk region, shot two people and seriously injured a child. Criminals are wanted.

Last year’s results will be summarized in a few days: on March 20, a meeting of the extended collegium of the ministry will be held in Moscow under the chairmanship of the head of the department Vladimir Kolokoltsev. By the way, he personally awarded state awards to all policemen who distinguished themselves in the SVO zone.
