In the first evening in which it was possible to party without corona restrictions, almost a third of the at least 600 visitors became infected with the corona virus in an Enschede disco. The disco in Enschede is not the only place where a (small) fire has arisen. Fifty students from Hotelschool The Hague were infected last week after a student association party. Being in Maastricht four restaurants closed due to seventeen corona infections among the staff – also after a party.
Municipalities also take little or no action against violations of the corona measures, it turned out today from a tour of Trouw. They say they don’t have the capacity.

What went wrong in Enschede?

The disco had already announced in capital letters that it would reopen its doors as soon as possible: 00:00 am, on June 26. With the warning: “This is new for you and also for us, so prepare yourself well and read all the rules carefully”.
