During the warm-up lap, there is limited communication between the engineer and the rider. Before the sprint, we had two warm-up laps due to Chou’s problems. And during the latter, some teams apparently communicated with their drivers more than is allowed.
George Russell, Sergio Pérez, Esteban Ocon, Mick Schumacher, Daniel Ricciardo, Lance Stroll and Sebastian Vettel had to take the carpet.
In Hungary 2020, the Haas drivers received an unauthorized information (command) to enter the tire pits. The stewards awarded them a 10-second penalty for this.
In this case, however, all seven drivers escaped without punishment. “The stewards met with the managers of the teams concerned and found that the reports under investigation had been cleared,” they said in the minutes.
