Local Police Agents detained in Lugo to an alleged thief after he tried to use a credit card that was not his to buy tobacco at a tobacconist in the north of the city.
According to the information provided by the Local Police, the events occurred on May 20, around 8:30 p.m., when the 092 operating room notified a patrol from the Territorial Unit of the Neighborhood Police to move immediately to Avenida da Coruña, since there was a person who was trying to pay the amount of a purchase with a card that was not his.
Upon arrival at the facility, the agents were informed that an individual had paid with a credit card for some packets of tobaccogiven that its value did not exceed 20 euros, but when trying to buy more, the terminal asked him to key in the PIN number.
It was then that the owner of the tobacconist realized that the card was not hers.
IDENTIFIED
With the physical description of the suspect provided by the owner of the establishment,The agents located the 30-year-old man in the vicinity of the Lugo Bus Station.
When searching it, they found thirteen packages of tobacco in a bag, a lighter, two mobile phones and cash. In addition, lying very close to where he was, they found another person’s wallet.
Agents also found that the physical description of the suspect agreed with that of the author of several thefts in the historic center of the city.
The proceedings have been forwarded to the Guardian Court.
