The video gaming community tends to be empathetic whenever there is a story that hurts someone with the same hobby. The clear proof of this is in the Pokémon community, which recently had their hearts broken due to a story of theft.

As Dextero recounts, a player recently posted an article on Reddit that went viral. In it, he asked the community to tell him about the saddest stories they had linked to Pokémon. The winner turned out to be a user who recounted losing 14 years of Pokémon history to a criminal.

“My husband’s car now was opened in 2014. There he left a suitcase for games, which was stolen and which contained EVERYTHING. All my childhood ―Red; Silver; Crystal; Sapphire; Leaf Green; Pearl; Mystery Dungeon Red; Black; Soul Silver and Black 2 – All the Pokémon teams I trained are gone, ”Weepinbells69 recounted.

Later, the user explained that one of the things that hurt the most about the theft was that he lost a shiny Weepinbell. It’s a creature that has meant a lot to this user ever since his brother captured it and gave it to him because he knew the plant-type creature is his favorite Pokemon.

“I still love Pokémon and always buy all the games when they come out, but it hasn’t been the same since then,” the user said.

The story broke the heart of the community

It’s an undoubtedly sad story. Especially since the Pokémon community knows the effort it takes to form a team and all that these digital creatures can mean for the community.

It is therefore not surprising that this story touches the hearts of many players. In fact, several decided to give shiny versions of Bellsprout to the affected person so that they could have another special Weepinbell. There are also those who were inspired to tell similar stories.

And for you, what did you think of this story? Do you know of a similar case? Tell us in the comments.
