Caracas, Mar 28 (EFE).- Venezuela will hold the second edition of the International Festival of Progressive Theater in June, with the participation of groups from 15 countries, including Mexico, which will be honored, the Ministry of Culture of the caribbean nation.
From June 8 to 18, 20 international and 32 national shows will be presented in Caracas, while a dozen foreign works and twenty local ones will tour several of the country’s 23 states, according to a press release released by the portfolio of Culture.
In this “theatrical festival”, in addition to Mexico, “artistic groups” from Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia, Cuba, Peru, Ecuador, Chile, Spain, Italy and Russia, among other countries, will participate.
This second edition of the festival will have one more country compared to the previous one, held from the end of July to the beginning of August of last year, an event that brought together guests from 14 countries, including Colombia, “special guest country”, as indicated then the Ministry of Culture.
He pointed out that until April 27 “the call will be open to receive theatrical projects of the national groups that want to apply to participate” in the festival.
The activities “for children, training and community theater will be completely free for the enjoyment of all Venezuelans,” he added. EFE
