Dutch seismologist Frank Hoogrebetz continues to generate a lot of controversy due to his predictions about earthquake activity in the region, the latest of which was today in Egypt.

In a new tweet he posted on his page on “X”, today, Wednesday, accompanied by a map on which he wrote, “As shown in the latest forecasts, the convergence of the planets and the moon on the 19th of this month could lead to stronger seismic activity to come.”

He also added, “But we do not yet have a clear indication of the most dangerous areas,” indicating that perhaps the matter will not be so bad.

Earlier today, the National Institute for Astronomical and Geophysical Research in Egypt announced that an earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale occurred today.

He explained that the earthquake occurred at exactly 4:30 in the morning, and was felt by residents of most governorates, noting that it occurred 265 kilometers northwest of Matrouh in the northwest of the country and at a depth of 13 kilometers.

He also indicated that there was no information indicating any loss of life or property.

This earthquake came days after new forecasts from the Dutch world, in which some clusters of strong tremors were likely to occur in the period from approximately September 15 to 17.

He also considered that the period from September 19 to 21 may witness relatively strong seismic activity, but he did not specify Egypt at all.

It is noteworthy that this world has raised and continues to raise widespread criticism among earthquake experts, who agree that the timing of earthquakes cannot be predicted at all. In this context, the director of the Moroccan Institute of Geophysics, Nasser Jabour, previously confirmed to Al Arabiya/Al Hadath that it is not possible to predict the occurrence of earthquakes, and determine their time and place, considering that this matter is impossible.
