A Terrifying Day at the Israeli Music Event: Survivors Share Their Stories

As rockets began to be fired from the Gaza Strip towards Israeli territory, on Saturday morning, hundreds of Israelis were attending a music event near the border with the Strip, before they found themselves victims of Palestinian gunmen.

On Sunday, the American CNN network quoted a number of attendees at this ceremony, detailing what they experienced, as they indicated that they were attending a celebration of the Jewish Throne Day.

One of the participants in the ceremony, Tal Ghibli, said, “The rocket firing began at six-thirty in the morning (local time), and with it the panic began.”

She continued: “We did not know where to go or hide because we were in an open place. Everyone panicked and started gathering their things.”

Video clips showed Ghibli and her friends moving quickly away from the concert venue, which is only about two miles from the border with the Gaza Strip.

As they reached their cars, there was heavy crowding with everyone trying to escape from the place. Ghibli added that the situation “became difficult and no one was able to move, and then the shooting started.”

“Don’t kill me.” A young family publishes a video of “the moment they were kidnapped” by Hamas members

The family of a young woman named Noa Argamani published a video clip showing the moment she was kidnapped by members of the Hamas movement, according to what was confirmed by the Times of Israel newspaper.

At some point, those present realized the presence of armed intruders, and ran away from the cars. Another survivor in the audience, named Ortel, told Israeli Channel 12: “Suddenly, without any prior warning, shooting started towards us.”

She continued: “They opened fire in every direction, and then I drove away in my car. At one point, the gunmen surrounded us and started shooting at our cars, so we got out. I was unable to continue driving. We just took cover.”

For her part, Ghibli added to CNN that she went to a nearby forest, and after about an hour she found a car to take her, but she could still hear the sounds of bullets.

She explained that she saw “a number of dead and wounded on both sides of the road,” and added: “It was horrific and we did not know where to go in order to avoid these evil people. I lost many friends who got lost in the forest or were shot.”

Currently, the survivors of the party are trying to communicate with their friends to find out their fate, whether they are alive or kidnapped.

The Hamas movement (classified as a terrorist organization in the United States) launched a surprise attack, the strongest in decades, on Saturday morning, against Israeli territory, by firing rockets and infiltrating armed men into border towns, killing at least 250 Israelis, according to the ambulance service, while a reporter said. Al-Hurra reported that the number had reached 300 dead.

In return, Israel launched a counterattack and bombed the movement’s positions in the Gaza Strip. According to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, the death toll in the Strip reached about 232 people.

It is likely that Hamas kidnapped dozens of civilians and members of the Israeli army and took them with it to the Gaza Strip.
