The body of an 18-year-old man was found in the early afternoon on Thursday on a rock wreath below the Climber’s House in Veliko Tarnovo. Inspections and investigative actions of criminalists are underway on the spot, the Municipal Radio of Veliko Tarnovo has learned.
According to initial data, this is not a violent death. The most likely versions are for an accident or suicide. The case is under investigation.
It is clarified that the teenager was last seen by his friends. This is another case of a tragic incident near the abandoned building of the rock wreath above the southern entrance of Tarnovo. Last July, 15-year-old Ipek, a student at the Vocational School of Electronics in the old capital, flew from the ghostly Climber’s House. The Prosecutor’s Office announced that it was a suicide.
The place is a gathering place for young people, as well as homeless people and people seeking solitude all year round. Piles of rubbish can often be seen in the area, which citizens organize to clean up.
To reach the Climber’s House, there is a narrow path along the vertical rock with a gap of several meters to over about twenty meters down the rock. The only way to cross the gap are two metal rails left over from a once-existing trail. In the past there was a metal railing, but it no longer exists.
The land and the building built on it are private property and the obligations for the management and maintenance of the property belong to the owner, commented last year the mayor of the municipality eng. Daniel Panov during a question in the Municipal Council.
