This is provided for by Resolution of the Council of Ministers No. 651 “On licensing the export of certain types of goods” dated September 30, 2023, reports BELTA with reference to National legal Internet portal of Belarus.
The ban applies to wheat, rye, barley, oats, corn, buckwheat, millet and other grains. Restrictions also apply to processed grain of various crops, rapeseed, sunflower seeds, etc.
To export these products from Belarus, exporters need to obtain one-time licenses from the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade in agreement with the regional executive committees or the Minsk City Executive Committee.
The grain export ban was first introduced in 2021. However, it does not apply to products supplied as part of humanitarian aid and in transit.
This resolution is valid for six months after its official publication.
