A teenager shot in the face in Manhattan, another man has been charged

A young man was arrested after another boy, aged 17, was shot in the face in an altercation at dawn in Manhattan on Saturday.said the police.

The shooting happened around 2:12 am. on Sherman Street near Academy Street in Inwood This was the second time in two days that a man under the age of 18 was killed in the five cities.said the police.

The 17-year-old suspect was arrested and initially charged with possession of a weapon hours latersaid the agents.

Officers were called to buildings near the corner of the street and They found the victim bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds on a staircase leading to the roof. The gun was found near the victim.

The young man was shot in the face and chest.the officials noted.

Paramedics took him to Harlem Hospital, where he was he was expected to survive.

The perpetrator fled the scene. Officers were scouring the area for security camera footage that could help them identify the gunman, before arresting a suspect yesterday.

It was not immediately clear what prompted the violence.but police believe the shooting was the result of some sort of fight at the scene, which was reported Daily News.

In an unrelated incident, almost 24 hours earlier, 16-year-old Kemari Sanders was shot in the neck while on the back of a motorcycle in the Bronx.

He was standing outside a closed daycare on Bryant Avenue near Jennings Street in East Crotona Park shortly before 1:00 a.m. when he was shot.
