The young man, 19, who got into trouble in Blaarmeersen in Ghent on Tuesday, has died. This is reported by the East Flanders public prosecutor’s office. Together with 2 friends he swam to the other side of the pond. At that time there were no lifeguards present and swimming was prohibited. He was pulled from the water and placed in a medically induced coma at the hospital.
