JAKARTA, iNews.id – A high school teacher (SMA) in Sukabumi Regency, Susan Atela (31) reportedly experienced paralysis and symptoms of blindness after receiving the Covid-19 vaccine second dose. This incident began when the victim received the second dose of vaccine on March 31, 2021.
Responding to this news, health observer and volunteer doctor for Covid-19 Dr. Muhamad Fajri Adda’i said that this incident was not necessarily the result of Covid-19 vaccination. The reason is, so far there is no valid research data that the Covid-19 vaccine can cause paralysis.
“The problem is that the causes are still confusing. So we don’t know whether this is caused by vaccines, ”said Dr. Muhamad Fajri Adda’i when contacted by MNC Portal, Sunday (2/5/2021).
He explained, there are two factors to understand the Post -Immunization Follow -up (KIPI). Because, the incident that happened to Susan’s teacher is still in the study of Komnas KIPI.
“Whatever happens after the injection is called KIPI. There is a time relationship, but not necessarily causality or cause and effect. So, not necessarily (due to vaccines). This must be studied. So far, the statement from the competent agency, Komnas KIPI, is still under review. So we don’t know whether this is related or not, “he said.
“Not necessarily related. Why? Because first, this is the second injection. If he has a severe allergy, for example, he should have had it the first (reaction). The timing is right, so the impression is related but not necessarily, “he explained.
