Selling second-hand clothes has become one of the most profitable businesses for young people, who in addition to acquiring unique garments, have discovered an infallible formula to practice sustainability and commit to a circular economy. What many do not know is who buys their things once they leave home packed, because that is the least important thing; The important thing is the money that they later receive in their bank account.
That’s why, when TikTok user @courttokslol sold one of the beloved Kansas City Chiefs jackets, she never thought she would meet the person who would buy it, much less see it worn by whoever did. Even less so, that the person was his idol: Taylor Swift.
Court herself tells it in a video that is already viral on the social network, which has accumulated more than 245,000 views to date and thousands of comments. In the video, the young American tells how it happened, and she never expected that putting one of her jackets up for sale on eBay would lead her to see it worn by Taylor Swift herself.
On the verge of a heart attack, Court tells how he believes that one of the Lover singer’s stylists bought his Kansas City Chiefs jacket on the buying and selling platform, and then saw it for the singer last weekend, when he attended the game that was facing her boyfriend’s team, where he plays as a tight end or receiver/closed end, against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
“Taylor Swift was wearing my old jacket at the Chiefs game tonight,” says the user, on the verge of a heart attack, at the beginning of the video.
That’s how it was. Millions of ‘swifties’ were able to see the artist wearing a vintage leather varsity-style jacket, with the colors and motifs of the KC, including a huge arrow-shaped logo on the back and red and gold details on the sleeves. The composer combined the colorful jacket with black pants from the Agolde brand and high boots, signed by the famous Christian Louboutin.
A style that caused a sensation among her followers, but even more so in Court herself, who couldn’t believe it when she saw that the singer was wearing the jacket that once belonged to her. The worst thing is that it was not her who realized it, but her mother, who was the one who noticed that it was hers. After doing a quick check on eBay and the sale details, they confirmed that it was sold to California.
“I have been a Swift fan for almost 20 years,” said the user. “We checked it again and again and not only is it the exact same jacket, but in the photos we had posted on eBay you can see it as a curvature, and that same curvature can be seen in the photo of her wearing it. “I can’t make it up,” he insists.
A jacket that she sold for 169 dollars (about 157 euros, at the exchange rate) and that is now probably one of the most searched items on the Internet. “Thank you to Taylor’s stylists for purchasing the jacket,” Court concluded in her video. “As a lifelong Chiefs fan and a ‘Super Swiftie,’ this is the coolest thing that has ever happened to me!”
