A Swede as an Arcobello replacement – the SCB has its foreigners
Now the foreigner positions at the SCB are filled: According to Swedish guarantors, the Swedish Michael Lindqvist is the “missing link” in the SCB offensive for the next season: the wing that is to replace the “clippers” Mark Arcobello.
SCB sports director Alex Chatelain has already signed a strong foreign center forward with the 29-year-old Swedish center forward Ted Brithén (von Rögle). What he still lacked was a dangerous wing to replace Mark Arcobello (at Lugano). According to Swedish guarantors, he has now also found it from «Expressen». It is said to be Michael Lindqvist (25), the top scorer from Färjestad in the highest Swedish league. A man who has produced almost exactly one point per game in Swedish stencil hockey for the past three years.
Half of them are goals. This season he missed half of the games due to a knee injury. Officially, there is no confirmation – except that it is not excluded that he can get out of the contract that is still open for one season (clause for international transfers) – which suggests that the information is correct.
Michael Lindqvist is not good enough for the NHL and for the Swedish World Cup teams, but too good to play “only” in Sweden and to forego a nice salary abroad. Last season he canceled a North American adventure after 16 games (7 points) in the AHL farm team league.
If that were the case, the foreigner positions would be wisely occupied and Alex Chatelain would have improved his dreadful foreigner record considerably. Lausanne’s top scorer Dustin Jeffrey and Ted Brithén for a stronger central axis, Mikael Lindqvist for the wing position and Tomi Karhunen in goal to secure Philip Wüthrich (comes from Langenthal). A fifth foreigner is expected to be signed – to have four foreign field players when Philip Wüthrich is in goal.
