A swarm of ants confused the residents of Varnsdorf. They thought the scene was set on fire

Two dozen people called the 150 line one after the other to warn of the impending fire. So Varnsdorf’s volunteer firefighters went to the scene to find out where the smoke was coming from. The surprise was amazing.

“Hrádek’s smoke is an ant! It does not burn. We are going home,” they wrote shortly afterwards on the social network. And they said: “The last time we went out to the same ants was almost exactly 12 years ago. They like it there.”

People in Varnsdorf must have been very relieved. To repair the popular place on the border of Varnsdorf and Seifhennersdorf in Germany, about forty million kroner has gone from the coffers of the town of Varnsdorf in the last four years.

The city is now looking for an operator for the building, in which the gastro operation has gone through a major renovation, and is preparing a grand opening for September 15.
