The police spotted the suspicious car on Maastrichtersteenweg in Tongeren. The license plate was flagged as suspicious. When the officers wanted to proceed with a check, the driver fled.

The pursuit was started. It went via Millen, Herderen, Genoelselderen to Membruggen. In the Rijckerstraat in Membruggen, the station wagon with three occupants went off the road. Police officers were able to arrest a suspect. The other two fled. A manhunt was launched. Police officers combed the area while a police helicopter provided reinforcements from the air. The fugitives could not be caught, but the detectives already know who it is.
For the operation, the police teams of the Bilzen/Hoeselt/Riemst zones worked together with those of Tongeren-Herstappe. The research is located in Tongeren. Since the interrogation has not yet been completed, no more information could be given.
