A summer of freedom in New York

In the metropolis, life is flourishing again after the corona disaster of the previous year. Many New Yorkers have returned to their city. New York pulsates with energy. But everyday life is not yet in normal mode.

The sirens wail in the rumbling streets of Manhattan. But it is no longer the howling alarm sound like at the height of the corona pandemic in New York 15 months ago, when the ambulances chased through the city every minute, but it is the daily routine of the police cars and fire engines. The noise, the din, the honking – everything that defines New York is back. Freaks and joggers populate the streets, 60-year-old faces in the bodies of 80-year-olds stroll with their dogs through the Upper East Side.
The crisis is hardly present in the streets, apart from a few mask wearers, mostly Chinese Americans. At selected locations such as in the trendy Meatpacking District in Chelsea, Covid stations in tents invite you to test. Vaccine is in abundance. New York is celebrating a summer of freedom, life is outdoors.
