A Studio Ghibli-inspired twist on Resident Evil 4 makes for an endearing animation experience.

While many of you have probably already experienced the opening of Resident Evil 4 thanks to the currently available Chainsaw Demo, we’ve seen some creative individuals create their own interpretations of the almost iconic opening. This includes a Lego variant, and Capcom doesn’t intend to be any worse themselves.

Capcom Asia has published some short Studio Ghibli-like anime clips called Resident Evil 4 Anime – Leon and the Mysterious Village (since Ben is lagging a bit behind, you can watch episode two and three here, and the first one shows Leon S. Kennedy entering the secluded Spanish village, meet some Ganados, and then get hit in the head with an axe, it’s actually pretty grim despite what the cute animation style might suggest.
