A student from Bergen missed after small planes went down in the Netherlands – NRK Vestland

There has been a large-scale rescue operation after a small plane crashed into the Caland Canal near Rotterdam on Sunday.

Divers and underwater drones have been searching for the missing.

There must have been two people on board.

It has now been confirmed that one of the missing is a Norwegian.

School student missed

A student at a secondary school in Bergen is missing in the plane crash.

This is confirmed by Bergen municipality and the school management to NRK.

– I can confirm that we have been in dialogue with the police. We are concerned about the student, family and everyone involved. I have no comments beyond this, says Frode Nilsen, director of the agency for school.

A message went out to students and parents at the school on Tuesday morning.

– We keep the school open if anyone wants to stay. We take special care of that class and some close friends, says the principal at the school to NRK.

Photographed at Flesland

The small plane left Bergen Airport Flesland on Sunday morning.

The plane was photographed when it was parked at the airport, just before it took off.

The aircraft is registered in Spain, but has a Norwegian owner.

There must have been two people on board the plane. It is not confirmed whether the other person was also a Norwegian.

The plane is supposed to have a stopover in Germany, and was on its way to France when it crashed.
