A strong thunderstorm in Arnedo on Monday afternoon caused serious damage to the arena in the city of La Rioja. Heavy rain was accompanied by gusts of wind that reached 75 kilometers per hour. The greatest damage was recorded in the Sendero sports area and in the La Paz district. After the storm, the landscape was desolate with uprooted trees, flooded roads and closed to traffic and flooded garages.
The Arnedo Arena, where the Golden Shoe fair will begin in a few days, was hit, as the storm took away part of the roof of the multipurpose space, as well as knocking down several rows of bricks from its wall.
