– A strong role model for cancer survivors – VG

EXAMPLE: On Friday, Bjørn Einar Romøren is ready for new challenges in the popular TV competition.

The Norwegian Cancer Society praises Bjørn Einar Romøren in «The Master of Masters». – We are grateful that Bjørn Einar uses this opportunity to tell viewers how the disease has affected his life.

The Cancer Society’s general secretary Ingrid Stenstadvold Ross tells VG.

– He has become a strong role model for cancer survivors throughout Norway, and especially men. There have not been so many male role models who have talked openly about their cancer before, Stenstavold Ross continues.

SECRETARY-GENERAL: – Bjørn Einar may not be aware of what a good and important ambassador he is, not least for men with cancer. As a person, he is impressive, but he also symbolizes something bigger than himself, says Secretary General Ingrid Stenstadvold Ross of the Norwegian Cancer Society.

– It’s very nice to hear that. Both that the Cancer Society says so and that the fact that I am part of the “Master of Masters” contributes to something. It makes it extra meaningful to be involved, says Bjørn Einar Romøren in a comment to VG.

In July 2019, it became known that Bjørn Einar Romøren had cancer, a malignant tumor of the hip. IN March the following year he could happily tell that “almost a year of chemotherapy is over, and the doctors say that the poison and the radiation have worked”.

– It is not just a personal victory for me to be part of the “Master of the Masters”. It is also important for me to show everyone else who has been where I have been that it is possible to get up and forward again after such a round, Romøren told VG when it became known that he was one of this year’s participants.

On Friday, it is ready for the second episode of this year’s Master of the Masters ». The first episode of the popular TV competition with Aksel Lund Svindal as host is so far seen by 1,361,000.

– Bjørn Einar may not be aware of what a good and important ambassador he is, not least for men with cancer. As a person, he is impressive, but he also symbolizes something greater than himself, namely how far development and research have come in recent times. That someone with his serious cancer should be able to participate in a hard program like “Master of the Masters” would not have been given just a few years ago, says Stenstavold Ross.

On 1 December, Bjørn Einar Romøren left as marketing manager in the Norwegian Ski Association and started in a management position in the Lively Home and Lively Me stores, which his wife Martine Remsøy Romøren (34) has built up.

NEW JOB: Bjørn Einar Romøren has now started a new job in the shops that his wife Martine has built up.

– We have four stores and online stores. We focus on two different concepts. One with interior, furniture and clothes. And a similar where children are the target group, says Romøren.
