A strong geomagnetic storm is heading towards Earth, expected to hit us over the weekend – October 5 and 6. People who are sensitive to the weather and have chronic illnesses may experience discomfort . Sunspot AR3842, a rapidly growing region of strong magnetic fields, exploded on Tuesday – causing the second strongest flare in seven years.

The US Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Space Weather Forecast Center issued a G3 geomagnetic storm warning late Thursday after recording two strong solar flares within 48 hours earlier this week.

In the coming days, the situation will continue with minor changes. A noticeable improvement in the situation will only happen on the night of October 6. Then the level of magnetic storms drops to five points.

At the same time, NASA scientists also warned that the solar flare responsible for the powerful magnetic storms could cause damage this weekend, destroying radio stations, power and satellite networks, and the internet.
