A stir at the Thiès Detention and Correctional Center. According to information obtained by emedia.sn, the inmates of the prison have been on hunger strike for 3 days. They demand a massive coronavirus screening test. The cause: two suspicious deaths have been counted since the appearance of the coronavirus in the prison.
According to sources requesting anonymity, a detainee named A. Guèye died in Room 6 of the prison. Another also would have died this Sunday, shortly after the first death, we are informed. The causes of death were not discussed. The administration evokes a natural death. Which ended up installing psychosis in the prison.
Also, we are informed, a first case of coronavirus was detected at Diourbel prison. Faced with the silence of the prison administration, the inmates of the Mac de Thiès began their diet. And they do not intend to stop until their grievances are not yet satisfied.
