A State of Trance’s anniversary is celebrated with a two-day festival in September | NOW

Armin van Buuren has Thursday night in the thousandth episode of his radio program A State of Trance announced that a two-day festival will be hosted in September. The two special shows in the Utrecht Jaarbeurs take place because of the anniversary of the radio show.

The weekend starts on Friday 3 September with a tribute to twenty years A State of Trance, where Van Buuren will perform with a few guests.

The second show on Saturday 4 September is in line with previous editions of the festival and will also give a preview of the future of A State of Trance.

The theme of the show is Turn the World into a Dancefloor. Fans who register through the event website, can buy a ticket from January 28 at 1 p.m. Regular ticket sales start on January 30 at 1 p.m.

Van Buuren started the show on June 1, 2001, which was then still Into Trance was called. “I was considered crazy: I made a two-hour radio program about one music style”, the DJ told NU.nl on Wednesday. “Now everyone does something like that and it’s called podcast, but of course it’s just the same.”
